Questions and answers

Are my files uploaded?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

What can I do with it?

Put videos, photos and sound on as many video and audio tracks as you need, trim, split, speed up or reverse each clip, add filters, effects, text and stickers, record a voice-over, and pick a shape like 9:16 with a blurred or coloured background.

How do I cut out a part in the middle?

Move the playhead to where the part starts and select Split, then do the same where it ends. Select the piece in the middle and press Delete to leave a gap, or Shift+Delete (Ripple delete) to close it.

How do I put one video on top of another?

Import the second video, move the playhead over the first one and select + on it in Media: it goes on a new video track above. Higher tracks cover lower ones, so lower the scale or opacity in the inspector for picture-in-picture.

How do I crop a video?

Select the clip and open Crop in the Inspector. Pick a shape like 9:16 or 1:1, move the edge sliders, or select “Crop on the preview” and drag the box and its handles. With the Original canvas, a cropped first clip also sets the shape of the saved video.

How do I add a transition?

Open Effects in the library and drag a transition, like Cross dissolve or Dip to black, onto the start or end of a clip. Between two touching clips it blends the cut; at a free edge the clip fades in or out. Change its type or length in the Inspector under Transitions.

How do I balance music and voice?

Open the Audio mixer tab next to the Inspector. Each track has a volume fader, left/right pan, mute (M) and solo (S), and the Master fader sets the overall level. The meters show the levels while the video plays.

How do I record a voice-over?

Move the playhead to where your voice should start and select Record voice (or press R). Allow the microphone, speak, then select Stop. The recording lands on a free audio track at that spot.

How long can my video be?

Everything is processed on your device, so a few minutes works best. Keep the tab open while it saves.

Why does the sound change pitch when I change the speed?

The sound is sped up or slowed down with the picture, like a tape, so it stays in sync. Mute the clip if you prefer only the music.
